There’s isn’t enough time in one's life to see all the thousands of gorgeous islands across Europe. But those looking for the best of the best should head to the Greek island of Páros. Located in the heart of the Cyclades, some hours away from Athens by ferry, the island is alternately described as Greece’s best-kept secret and its biggest up-and-comer — and it’s always raved about.
Cyclades islands are most renowned for their serene landscapes, cosmopolitan nightlife, and ancient monuments, such as the sanctuary of Delian Apollo and Artemis. And with 120kms of coastline, Páros complemented by endless sandy beaches with azure blue waters, it's also a haven for kitesurfing.

May and June are certainly the ideal months for a cozy stay in Páros: there are less crowds than during summer holidays, and the weather is already warm, the sky is clear, and chances of rain are low.
After immersing in history and culture in the country’s capital, Athens, make sure you also check out the other islands surrounding Páros that promise to match it in beauty and excitement. Here are a few of the adventures you can look forward to having:
Out of the 6,000 jaw-dropping Greek islands to choose from, Santorini is truly a bucket-list destination for those who dream of breathtaking sunrises and exploring picturesque blue-domed villages. An overnight ferry will land you on Santorini just in time to hike up and watch the sun rise over the water, before a day of exploring this unspeakably beautiful island.
Eternal rival of Paros, Naxos is the largest and greenest island in the Cyclades. Lounge on the white, sandy beaches, visit ancient temples, hike to the summit of Mount Zas, explore the charming villages… and top all that with kitesurfing, of course! The island’s wind statistics and the dozen spots available on its west coast make it a dream destination for this discipline.
Mykonos is the Greece’s answer to Ibiza, with bronzed bodies thronging its beaches by day and bass lines pounding until dawn. But there’s more to Mykonos than the dazzling sand, and insatiable revellers. Spend a little time here to dive into the quiet charm of the Cycladic maze of Hora, (re)discover the pleasure of travelling the backcountry roads, and enjoy a dining scene to rival any Greek island.
Please note that these side trips (and any other activities) are not included in the chapter price. These are given here for information only, and you will have to organize it yourself before, during, or after the chapter. Luckily, Kiterhood is the breeding ground for new friendships, so you can easily team up and side trip together whenever it suits you. We can already recommend you not to make solid flight arrangements on the days following this chapter. You will maybe end up extending your stay for a few more weeks: Kiterhood is only the beginning!
Spots to suit every level are only steps away from where you’ll live and work. Water is flat in most spots, but you can expect some small waves too when swell comes in. Average water temperature is around 21°C/70°F, the wind is strong and you can expect to have the spots mostly for yourself thanks to the timing of the chapter. Here are some of the spots where sessions are planned to take place.
